    Saint Monica Catholic Church devotional Holy Hours of Eucharistic Adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament are on Fridays starting from 7:30am through 6:45pm.

  • Resurrection Day Lilies + Lirios Para El Día De La Resurrección

     

    We are accepting Resurrection Day Easter lilies on Monday March 30th, through Thursday April 2nd, from 8am to 4pm. Please bring them to the parish office.

    We will also be receiving them on Saturday April 4th, from 8am to 11am. Please bring them directly to the Church.

  • Lenten Fasting + Ayuno Cuaresmal

     

    LENT ABSTINENCE from meat is observed on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent for Catholics who are 14 years and older.

    FASTING is observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age to 59 years.

  • Easter Egg Hunt + Búsqueda de Los Huevos de Pascua

     


    Please bring your family, and especially the children in your family, to Saint Monica's morning Mass and Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday April 5th. Bring a bag or basket for the kids to find and collect Easter eggs and candy after Resurrection Day Sunday mass.

     

    Por favor traigan a sus familias, y especialmente a los niños de sus familias, a la Misa de Pascua de la Iglesia Católica de Santa Mónica temprano por la mañana y después la búsqueda de huevos el Domingo 5 de Abril.   • Mass Etiquette + Etiqueta Durante La Misa




     



    Moments When We Should Not Speak or Whisper At All:

    1. During the readings from Scripture.
       
    2. While the priest or the main celebrant is delivering his homily or address.
       
    3. In Mass, during the "Eucharistic Prayer," when the priest or the main celebrant holds up the Eucharistic wafer to the congregation.
       
    4. In Mass, during the "Eucharistic Prayer," when the priest or the main celebrant holds up the Chalice to the congregation.
       
    5. In Mass, when the priest or main celebrant consumes the Body and Blood of Christ, and then turns to offer Communion to the Deacon and those who have been assisting him at the altar.

     

    Personal prayers, supplications, and requests should take place before the mass, during the Universal Prayer or Prayer of the Faithful, (when the lector offers specific prayers and petitions to God), and after the mass. There should be no talking or whispering during the Eucharistic Prayer and the Miracle of Transubstantiation. 

     

     

     

     

    Momentos En Los Que No Debemos Hablar Ni Susurrar:

    1. Durante las lecturas de la Sagrada Escritura.
       
    2. Durante la homilía o el sermón del sacerdote o el celebrante principal.
       
    3. En la Misa, durante la Plegaria Eucarística, cuando el sacerdote o el celebrante principal eleva La Hostia consagrada ante la congregación.
       
    4. En la Misa, durante la Plegaria Eucarística, cuando el sacerdote o el celebrante principal eleva El Cálice ante la congregación.
       
    5. En la Misa, cuando el sacerdote o el celebrante principal consume el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, y luego se dirige a ofrecer la Comunión al diácono y a quienes lo asisten en el altar.

       

    Oraciones personales, súplicas y peticiones deben realizarse antes de la Misa, durante la Oración Universal o Oración de los Fieles (cuando el lector presenta oraciones y peticiones específicas a Dios), y después de la Misa.     51% of unchurched Americans say the most effective way to get them to visit church would be through a personal invitation from someone they know. Other methods were not as effective.
